We all know the numbers and the rings. But 6 rings is 5 less than Bill Russell. So if rings are the measure than Bill Russell is the one. But How great MJ was led to six rings. But his impact on the league was not as astonishing as Wilt Chamberlain. Michael Jordan is my fasvorite player of all time. I watched him play at North Carolina and Chicago. I love MJ's game. But he was not as athletic as Wilt, nor did he alter the game as much. Wilt had a far reaching impact. The televising of NBA games, the widening of the lane and so many other rule changes. MJ had Pippen, Armstrong, Kerr, Grant, Kukoc. and a whole host of other better than average players. He won rings after the Bulls got Pippen, and Grant, and other key role players. So the argument is that MJ won ZERO rings until Scottie Pippen came along. Not taking anything away from Jordan, just realistically stating that the Bulls were losing in the playoffs until Pippen came to Chicago.
